Detectives from the Montgomery County Division of Police have arrested 22-year-old Adeniyi Oyegbami for an armed carjacking that occurred on Aug.6
On Aug. 6, law enforcement officials responded to an armed carjacking name within the 8300 block of Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring.
In response to authorities, the investigation affirmed that Oyegbami, whereas armed with a black handgun, stole a white 2017 Mercedes from a male sufferer and ran away.
Authorities add that because the investigation progressed, Oyegbami was recognized because the suspect.
Later, on Aug. 24, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Oyegbami and charged him with armed carjacking, firearm use in a violent felony crime, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, unlawful possession of a firearm, theft and illegal taking of a motorized vehicle.
Just a few days later, on Aug. 31, detectives noticed Oyegbami leaving his home in Prince George’s County.
Officers report that Oyegbami seen the detectives and ran away on foot.
In response to authorities, a brief chase ensued previous to Oyegbami being taken into custody.
Detectives say {that a} search and seizure warrant was obtained and accomplished at Oyegbami’s house. Upon search, a loaded Glock 30 and different evidentiary objects tying Oyegbami to the crime scenes have been discovered.
Oyegbami was transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, the place he’s being held with out bond.
