Properly, it’s lastly taking place: Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Sequence chipsets will ship next-level efficiency, AI, connectivity, and battery life, plus hardware-accelerated AI for Home windows on Arm PCs.
“Snapdragon X sequence platforms construct on our years of expertise engineering heterogeneous compute architectures throughout the central processing unit (CPU), graphics processing unit (GPU), and neural processing unit (NPU),” Qualcomm senior vice chairman Don McGuire writes within the announcement submit. “Now, harnessing our next-generation customized Qualcomm Oryon CPU, a quantum leap ahead in efficiency and energy effectivity will anchor Snapdragon X and — when mixed with our NPU — will ship accelerated on-device person experiences for the brand new period of generative AI.”

Qualcomm felt that this chipset was such an advance over its earlier PC-based chipsets that it wanted a brand new naming conference and visible design. The “X” distinguishes these PC-based chips from its different chipsets, it says, whereas the premium nature of its design represents “the monumental leap ahead in computing, and the person experiences it is going to allow.” And as with different Snapdragon chipsets, there might be tiers of Snapdragon X chipsets.
