In a latest cupboard reshuffle, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been assigned with the extra function of overseeing the Ministry of Science and Expertise, whereas Zunaid Ahmed Palak, the State Minister for Info and Communication Expertise (ICT), has been assigned with the extra duties of the Posts and Telecommunications Division, following the departure of the 2 technocrat ministers from these ministries.
The reshuffle comes as per an official round issued from the cupboard division on Wednesday. The assigned duties might be further duties with the ministers’ current duties.
The 2 technocrat ministers, Yeafesh Osman from the Ministry of Science and Expertise and Mustafa Jabbar from Posts and Telecommunications Division, handed of their resignations to the cupboard division on 19 November.
As per the structure, as much as one-tenth of the cupboard could be appointed as technocrats.
