I am trying to buy a 2TB SATA SSD for my Mac Professional 5,1. I’ve heard @tsialex say that the SATA merchandise are all primarily QLC junk at this level. I might buy an NVME product, however I’ve run out of PCIe slots at this level. Can anybody advocate the least worst SATA SSD?
This SSD does not must be the quickest factor on the planet. It might be good if it had an honest, latest observe document of reliability. My supposed use case is for knowledge storage below ZFS; I suppose one other technique I may pursue can be to only buy two low cost 2TB SSD’s from completely different producers and ZFS mirror them.
(after I look on Amazon I see that the Micron 1100 is marketed as TLC – anybody tried one among these?)
Thanks to your ideas.
