
A 16-year-old Gaithersburg resident was arrested and charged with a number of automotive thefts and possession of a gun.
In keeping with Montgomery County Police, on Nov. 16 at 10:30 p.m., detectives noticed a stolen Honda Accord within the space of 12100 Darnestown Street. They found the 16-year-old within the driver seat with a loaded Taurus 9mm semiautomatic gun in his pocket. Police apprehended the teenager with out incident.
Following an investigation, police discovered the automotive keys to the stolen Honda had been taken throughout a Nov. 8 theft from a Toyota Camry.
The suspect was taken to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit and was charged as an grownup with a number of auto theft, procession of a firearm, and theft from an vehicle associated expenses. The teenager is awaiting extradition to Washington, D.C., for theft expenses.
