iMac 3.7GHx 6-core Intel i5 27-inch 2019, operating Monterey 12.6.9 from an exterior SSD. The interior fusion drive isn’t bootable since Carbon Copy Cloner didn’t (couldn’t?) embody to repeat the OS when copying— so no OS put in on the interior fusion HD. Supposed to put in Ventura, or Sonoma in a couple of weeks when it’s launched. Big remorse now for ready…
• The Magic Mouse 2 was behaving oddly and since its p-lists docs have been lacking from Preferences, determined to restart.
• Upon restart, determined to reset the PRAM.
• That is when the iMac determined to misbehave. Wouldn’t proceed to load and silently shut down.
• Wouldn’t begin up when the ability button is pressed.
• Unplugged and powered as much as restart with Choice key. The choice to decide on the exterior SDD is obtainable. However as soon as it’s chosen and begins besides, it silently shuts down once more.
• Tried begin up from macOS Restoration System. Silently shuts down.
• Tried begin up from macOS Web Restoration. Took 30 min to load and proceeds to restart. However silently shuts down once more.
• Utilizing one other iMac now. Plugged within the exterior SSD that I commonly boot from on the three.7Ghz iMac. It appears to be working and never lifeless. It’s simply not accessible as a startup disk underneath System Preferences for the reason that iMac I am penning this from will not be supported.
Any assist could be a lot appreciated, as that is my foremost workhorse.
TYIA!
